On February 18, 2014, firefighters from Lakeside's River Park fire station (fire station 2) came to Winter Gardens Elementary School for a fire safety demonstration. The Firefighters answered some great questions and showed off their gear and equipment for 50 preschool and kindergarten-aged children. When the demonstration was over, the crew from Engine 202s raised the 65-foot aerial ladder to replace the halyard on the school's flag pole.
Lakeside firefighters visit schools all over the district throughout the year. We replace a few halyards every year too!
