On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, Lakeside
Fire Protection District Chief Andy Parr attended the 2014 Firehouse World
Convention at the convention center in downtown San Diego
where Lakeside's newly-delivered fire engine was
on display. The custom Smeal pumper, built in Snyder,
Nebraska, is a twin to the engine assigned to Lakeside’s
River Park Fire Station (fs2) which was placed in service last year.
After a week or two of additional work to
customize it for use in the Lakeside Fire District, this new apparatus will be assigned to Engine Company 3 at the Lake Jennings Fire Station (fs3).
