Lakeside - The Engine 3 and Medic 3 crews from Lakeside's Lake Jennings fire station (fs3) were invited to visit to the youngsters at the
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Lakeside on November 15, 2010. Captain Culkin gave a brief talk on the importance of smoke detectors and asked the kids to be sure and practice E.D.I.T.H. (exit drills in the home) with their families. Engineer Chris Downing and Firefighter-paramedics Bernie Molloy and Jose Corona gave the students a tour of the fire engine and paramedic ambulance. Firefighter Shawn McKenna finished up the visit by donning all of his 70 lbs. of firefighter gear, allowing the kids a chance to see what we might look and sound like if we ever have to come to their homes on an emergency call.
