Lakeside Firefighters Stop Small Brush Fire

Lake Jennings Area, Lakeside, CA -

A rapid response brought a quick end to a brush fire in Lakeside on May 15, 2013. Heartland Fire Communications received multiple reports of a fire burning in the vegetation on Lake Jennings Park Rd. next to the Helix Water District's R.M. LevyWater Treatment Plant. Lakeside Division Chief 4103 (Laff) arrived on scene within a few minutes of dispatch and directed incoming firefighters to deploy hoselines and quickly surround the fire. Personnel from the water treatment plant had also deployed hoselines to fight the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters.

The wildland fire resource assignment for this fire included: Brush 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Water Tender 7251, Medic 2, Division 4103, Divison 4105 (Lakeside);  Engine 8 (Heartland Fire-Rescue); Brush 17 (Alpine); Engine 3382 (CalFire).

A hoselay extended from Brush 1 held the fire in check.
