It's that time of year again when firefighters are working on their entries for the 2013 Fire and Safety Expo/Firefighter Demolition Derby at the San Diego County Fair. This year's event will be held in the Del Mar Arena on the fairgrounds. Gates to the expo open at 10 AM, with the first heat race at 1 PM. This event is in support of the Burn Institute.
In addition to the demolition derby firefighters from throughout San Diego County will be on hand to demonstrate firefighting and rescue skills.
Once again Lakeside's "Downhill Danny Leetch" will be there with his entry. In 2011 Danny won the event on a shoestring as his car was pretty beat-up at the end. After some emergency repairs Danny was able to compete in the finals.

We would love to see our Lakeside Family out there to cheer on Danny. If you were planning on attending the fair this year maybe June 8th would fit into your plans. This event always delivers as these drivers are looking for bragging rights.
