New ALS Ambulance to go into Service

The Lakeside Fire Protection District / CSA-69 is only a few days away from placing their newest ambulance on the streets of Lakeside. The District’s new ambulance is seen here at the recent Firehouse Expo, a national Fire Service convention held in San Diego each year at the Convention Center. The ambulance was built by Braun Northwest Specialty Vehicles of Chehalis, WA and rides on a GMC G-4500 chassis. The District’s Apparatus and EMS Committees collaborate to specify the patient care workspace requirements (within the allotted budget) and this design was admired by many at the three day show.

Interim Fire Chief Andy Parr (photo) was at the Expo to take delivery of the ambulance. This ambulance, when fully equipped, will be housed at the District’s Lake Jennings Fire Station (LKS FS 3). The total cost of the vehicle including equipment is about $160,000. The District is very proud of its 35 year relationship with the County of San Diego and the area’s CSA-69 EMS District. With our partner Santee FD, CSA-69 is the longest provider of Fire Service Based Advance Life Support (Paramedic) service in San Diego County.
