Extrication Accident on Lake Jennings Park Rd

Lakeside: A high-speed head-on traffic collision with entrapment brought a multi-agency response to Lake Jennings Park Rd. in Lakeside on Saturday, February 06, 2010. Lakeside Battalion 1 (Tockstein) assumed “Jennings IC” and directed operations for the crews from R3, E1, E26s, R27, M3 and M4. Barona Battalion 8 (Kremensky) assisted as incident Safety Officer. Crews used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the front seat passenger of one vehicle. Firefighter/paramedics from Medic 3 (Lakeside) and Medic 4 (Santee) provided advanced life support care and transported a total of three patients to the trauma centers at Sharp Memorial and Scripps Mercy hospitals.

This incident is another example of the excellent automatic aid system and the seamless interagency cooperation we have in the Heartland Operational Zone. Assisting agencies included Lakeside, Barona and Santee fire departments and California Highway Patrol.
