Lakeside - On the afternoon of Sunday, January 23, 2010, the Lakeside Fire District received a call reporting that wires were down on the 12100 block of Lemoncrest Drive. Engine 1 from the Riverview fire station (fs1) was dispatched and found a SDG&E power pole had been broken at the base.
The lines kept the pole from toppling over completely |
Electrical power was out to a large portion of the Lemoncrest Drive area. The timing was unfortunate and had many residents wondering where they were going to go to watch the NFL playoff games.
The pole is located in a drainage ditch along Lemoncrest Drive |
SDG&E arrived on scene and began the long process of replacing a pole with suspended wires. This is a long intricate process that resulted in Lemoncrest being closed-down for several hours over the evening and into the night.
