Update on Cowboy Fire

Campo Area - As of September 4, 2010, the Cowboy Fire is approximately 827 acres and is 65% contained. There are currently no structures threatened or destroyed. Assigned resources are as follows:


874 personnel
49 engines
32 handcrews
4 air tankers
2 helicopters
4 dozers
14 water tenders


Full containment is expected sometime tomorrow.


Lakeside Firefighters assisted on this incident under the state mutual-aid system. Crews from the Eucaltyptus Hills fire station (fs2) responded as part of both Type I (Engine 2) and Type III (Brush 2) strike teams. Engine 2 was released from the incident on Friday morning and is back in district. Brush 2 is currently still assigned as part of Central Zone (formerly Heartland) strike team 6440C.
