Multiple units from the Lakeside Fire District responded to a single vehicle rollover on rain-slickened Highway 67 in the northern area of Lakeside this afternoon. Crews from E1, E2, and M1 under the supervision of Battalion 1 (Lawler) attended to a single patient who suffered major trauma. Several passers-by including off-duty fire and police personnel performed CPR on the victim until Lakeside Fire units arrived. Unfortunately, the driver was unable to survive his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. Assisting agencies included the California Highway Patrol.
